hi i like pie and i also like games. games are fun and sometimes interactive. right now i want to make a game and sell it to people and maybe even become famous from it.
here are the four forces of flight:
Thrust-this is the part of a plane that helps it go forward.
Drag-this is what help slow you down when you need to land.
Gravity-this is the weight at the bottom that makes you go down when you need to land.
Lift-this is the air pressure that helps you levitate when you need to fly.
My definition of flight:
My definition of flight is to use air pressure to help you levitate up and down and to let you soar in the air.
What we improved/not improved in our modifications:
we put too much drag and weight so it so it down and/or made it too heavy.
scientific method
observation-i observed to see if changing the plane would work.
hypothesis-maybe if i changed it how i want it it would fly better.
Expirement-i changed the airplane and flew it.
conclusion-the plane flew more controlled but it flew less distance.
the Bernoulli effect is when fast winds go above the plane and slow air goes bellow the plane lifting it up.
yaw-nose left or right
pitch-nose up or down
roll-plane banks left or right
dihedral-formed by two planes
static-lacking of movement
dynamic-motion of plane
aerodynamic-the movement of air that lift the plane
Occam's razor-to take out what is impossible and leave as little answers as possible. you could this in your daily life like if your friends tells you stuff you can tell what is the fake stuff so you are left with what you think is the truth.
datum-is the last time or the same area you last saw the target.
the red barrons plane was red because of blood
the difference between true north and magnetic north is that true north is in the direction of the north pole and magnetic north is in the direction of the magnetic pole.
the attitude gyro is so you can how level you are from the ground.
airfoil: a shape designed or just happens to cut through air.
30 noutical miles=35.5 statute miles
130noutical miles=150 statute miles
2,000 lbs of fuel=1 lb of payload
800,000,000 lbs of fuel=400,000lbs of payload
rocket safety code
1.materials-i will use only light weight, non-metal parts for the nose, body, and fins of my rocket.
2.motors-i will use only certified, commercially-made model rocket motors, and i will not tamper with these motors or use them for any porpuses except those recomended by the manufactuler.
3.ignition system-i will launch my rockets with an electrical launch system and electrical motor igniters.
4.launch safety-i will use a count down before launch, and will make sure everyone is paying attencion from a safe distance of at least 15 feet away when i launch my rockets with d motors or smaller, and 30 feet when i launch larger rockets.
5.misfires-if my rocket does not launch when i press the button of my electrical system, i will remove the launchers safety interlockor disconnect the battery before allowing anyone to approach the rocket.
6.launcher-i will launch my rocket from from a launch rod, tower, or rail to ensure that the rocket flies nearly straight.i will use a blast detector to prevent the motors exhoust from hitting the ground, and i will cap the end of my launch rod when not in use.
7.size-if my model rocket weighs mopre than one pound at liftoff or has more than a single g motor, i will check and comply with federal aviation administration regulations before flying.
8.flight safety-i will not my launch rocket at targets or near airplanes, and will not put any flamable or explosive payload on my rocket.
9.launch site-i will launch my rocket outdoors,in an open area and safe weather conditions , and will ensure there is no dry grass close to the launch pad.
10.recovery system-i will use a recovery system such as a streamer or parachute in my rocket so it returns safely and undamaged and can be flown again, and i will use only flame resistant or fireproof recovery system waddind in my rocket.
11.recovery safety-i will not attempt to recover my rocket from power lines, tall trees, or other dangerous places.
what was in common in all of our launches was that of them worked and most of them went and let out hte streamer/parachute.
the reason some launches failed was because some of the igniters were bad or the motors were not good or sometimes there were cross wires.
the way we used scientific method was:
hypothesys-we thought how good would rockets fly with our own custom way of putting the fins
question-how good would our rocket fly wioth the way we put our fins.
hypothesys-i think this way would fly the best because...
experiment-we flew our rockets to see which set of fins was put together best.
